Savannah & Tyler’s Acadia post-wedding session was pure magic—romance, adventure, and breathtaking views.

Acadia Adventure Post-Wedding Session

A Change of Plans, But the Same Adventure Spirit

Savannah and Tyler originally planned to elope in Acadia National Park with their immediate family, embracing the rugged beauty of Maine’s coastline as their wedding backdrop. But like many couples navigating the unexpected, they had to pivot. Instead, they officially tied the knot in Arkansas, surrounded by family, before heading to Acadia for a post-wedding adventure session. And honestly? It was the perfect way to celebrate their love.

Instead of a single wedding day, they got two celebrations—one filled with family and tradition, and another devoted to exploring, soaking in the moment, and creating breathtaking memories just the two of them.

A Stylish and Meaningful Outfit Choice

Savannah and Tyler’s wardrobe choices for their Acadia adventure session were not only stunning but also a reflection of their personalities.

Savannah wore a breathtaking pearl-studded gown that shimmered with every movement. The intricate beading and delicate design gave her an ethereal glow that stood out beautifully against Acadia’s rugged landscapes. Her choice of a fitted silhouette with flutter sleeves added just the right touch of elegance against the intricate landscape.

Tyler, on the other hand, went for an effortlessly cool and classic look with an all-black suit and tie ensemble. The sleek monochrome outfit made a bold contrast against the natural scenery, making their photos even more striking. But the best detail? The inside of his jacket was lined with tiny skulls, a subtle yet bold personal touch that added a fun edge to his otherwise formal look. It was such a unique and meaningful detail that made the outfit truly his own.

Exploring Acadia National Park: A Foggy, Magical Kind of Day

When we set out for their 4-hour Acadia adventure session, we had a full itinerary of stunning spots they wanted to explore. Savannah and Tyler are both self-proclaimed goofy, outdoorsy, and adventure-loving—hiking, camping, and traveling are what they do best. So, naturally, a session spent wandering Acadia’s dramatic cliffs and misty shorelines was an experience made for them.

Schooner Head & Monument Cove – A Serene Start

We kicked things off at Schooner Head, where the moody, overcast sky made the ocean views even more dramatic. From there, we moved to Monument Cove, where the towering rock formations framed them perfectly. These quiet, early-morning spots set a romantic, intimate tone for the day.

Otter Cliff – Embracing the Wild, Windy Coastline

As we hiked along the cliffs, the fog started rolling in, wrapping the landscape in a soft, ethereal glow. Some couples might be bummed by cloudy skies, but Savannah and Tyler embraced it—and it made for some of the dreamiest, most cinematic photos. There’s something about a little wind and mist that adds a layer of drama and romance, don’t you think?

Jordan Pond & Jesup Path – A Change of Scenery

To mix things up, we headed to Jordan Pond, where the water was eerily still, reflecting the muted tones of the surrounding forest. Then, at Jesup Path, we found a beautiful boardwalk surrounded by golden fall foliage—a contrast to the rocky cliffs from earlier. The variety of landscapes in Acadia is unreal and made their session feel like an entire day of different adventures packed into just a few hours.

Ivy Manor – A Cozy, Fairytale Ending

We wrapped up at Ivy Manor, the charming ivy-covered hotel where they were staying. After all the wild landscapes, this intimate little corner of Bar Harbor felt like the perfect spot to wind down. The cozy, lush greenery surrounding them gave off serious storybook romance vibes, and the quiet moments here were some of my favorites from the day.

Tips for Planning an Acadia Adventure Elopement

If you’re dreaming of an elopement or Acadia adventure session, here are some things to keep in mind:

1. Choose the Right Time of Year

Acadia is breathtaking year-round, but the best time for your elopement depends on your vision.

  • Spring (April – June): Fresh greenery, blooming wildflowers, and fewer crowds. Late May and June offer mild weather and a peaceful atmosphere.
  • Summer (July – August): Warm, vibrant, and perfect for adventure, but also the busiest season. Opt for a sunrise or weekday ceremony to avoid crowds.
  • Fall (September – October): Stunning foliage, crisp air, and fewer tourists—ideal for a classic New England autumn elopement. Peak colors arrive in early to mid-October.
  • Winter (November – March): Quiet, snowy, and intimate. Some roads close, but if you love a cozy, secluded feel, this season is magical.

Each season offers something special, so choose what feels most like you!

2. Be Ready for New England Weather

Maine’s coastline is known for fog, wind, and sudden weather changes. Honestly, that’s part of the magic. But always bring:

  • Layers (even in summer, the coast can be chilly!)
  • A clear umbrella (just in case—and it looks amazing in photos!)
  • Sturdy shoes for exploring

3. Plan a Route, But Stay Flexible

Savannah and Tyler had a plan, but we also left room for spontaneous stops and unexpected moments. Acadia has so many hidden gems, so don’t be afraid to explore off the beaten path!
