Julia and Serge got married in the NY City Hall 3 years ago, but they were really dreaming of eloping somewhere surrounded by nature. When we crossed path I instantly got so excited to be part of their special adventure! They love going on adventures and hiking so as I was scouting locations I happened upon the ideal location for their winter elopement in the Lakes Region in New Hampshire.
The hiking
I meet Julia and Serge at the trail’s parking lot. They hiked in their attire already since they didn’t have a first look. It was a cold day. The thermometer was marking 20F and we hiked a 2.9 miles loop up to this beautiful spot, with views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the surrounding mountains. They had the place all to themselves, and enjoyed the beautiful views while having a picnic with some must needed hot tea and snacks.
The ceremony
After the picnic, they chose their favorite spot to read their vows to one another. When Julia and Serge got married in NY they didn’t exchange vows so this was a very special moment for them! Seeing the emotion and teary eyes as they read together was so emotional I was getting misty eyes – it was such a sweet moment! They cuddled and danced for a little bit before we hiked back down.
They are such a sweet couple and I’m so happy that I got the chance to meet them!
And I can say for sure: winter elopements and this sweet couple have a special place in my heart!
Also, I put together a guide on how to plan a winter elopement, so if you are thinking about eloping in the winter make sure to ready it.
